TS Meeting 8/20/09

Meeting Minutes taken by Darlene Houck

Present:  Alicia, Darlene, Tricia, Jen, Jo Ann, Ping, Michelle, Pat, Vicki and Lynda.

1. Taking Minutes - It will be done alphabetically by first name (Lynda will mail out the list).

2. Reports and Announcements - Pat discussed what she learned about the budget at the campus retreat. 

3. Emergency procedures - The Library has a critical list. Melissa is updating  the list.  People are encouraged to sign up for the text message service sent up by campus, if not you can call the emergency phone numbers.  Michelle is emailing Lynda the instructions she currently uses for staff and students in the event of an emergency during working hours. Lynda will make up procedures for the Department and send to all.

4. LEEC Audio conferences - they have scheduled 12 to 16 in room 259 which are about an hour.  There is also a Q&A after.  They are working with communications group.  Staff is encouraged to go. 

5. Pandemic Flu Preparations - are posted on website and the library and campus are making plans for different scenarios (campus closed, classes canceled, etc.)  http://www.umbc.edu/uhs/healthalerts.html; Pat will give Lynda a copy of the chart from the CDC.  Also discussed was purchasing hand sanitizer for the department. Also the cleaning of the student keyboards and surfaces which may need to be done by staff to make sure it is getting done.
