Departmental Meeting

1. Windows 7 has been placed on all of the machines for the early adaptors in the Library.  This includes 2 test machines in Technical Services.  L. Aldana could not remember the schedule for moving all machines to Windows 7.
2. Flies in the department - All agreed the probable seems especially bad.  L. Aldana had already planned to put in a request to see if they loading dock could not be cleaned, perhaps lids for the bins.  She will send the request after the meeting.  This discussion also included a brief discussion on the bathrooms and the fact that after the SLC is in use, the bathrooms may need more attention.
3. The Ice Cream social is on Thursday and this is to be followed by a discussion of the FY11 planning priorities.  All encouraged to attend.  If you have any comments please share them with L. Aldana, or other members of LEC or bring your questions to the discussion session.
4. Pat Brown provided an update of the annual University Retreat.  The sessions were good and the food was healthy.  One of the biggest topics at the retreat was diversity.  The University needs to devote more to developing a stronger commitment to diversity across the campus.
5. The fall opening meeting is scheduled for 11:30 today and everyone is encouraged to attend.
