December 1, 2010 TS Meeting notes
Notes from Dec. 1, 2010 meeting
1. TS will have a holiday pizza party on Dec. 14 (Tuesday). Staff are encouraged to bring some light snacks for the party. Darlene will take care of getting a quote for the pizza and collecting money.
2. Office Christmas decorations - people will decorate next week.
3. Cheers Holiday Party will be on Dec. 17 (Friday). The food list on the Cheers wiki page will soon be ready for you to sign up. Please bring auction items to Cheers.
4. The new Media Librarian Eric is scheduled to visit TS on Friday, Dec. 3. Lynda will give an overview of our department, and then Eric will spend time with the staff in each of the areas in TS.
5. The Library Assembly Meeting attendance was very low at the last meeting so please consider attending. The LA officers have been working to arrange guest speakers and have interesting programs. They have also modified the way the reporting is done in an effort to have reports from only those groups who want to report.
6. Medicine Supplies - we do have some band-aids. However, if anybody gets significant job injuries they should fill out a report and go to the Univ. Health Services or hospitals. The forms are in the stand by the supply filing cabinet.
7. The Library will be part of a campus pilot program for auto-turn-off of campus computers.
8. The Library will implement duplex copying/printing in January and evaluate in April. DOIT is interested in seeing how the it works during the Library's pilot project and may considering implementing in the labs and across campus.
9. We may have another Spring Staff Day.
10. Library discovery tools - the last discovery tool webinar is scheduled and in the spring we will have webinars for various ILS vendors.
11. The Window 7 training classes may be offered by the campus so LITS will probably not need to schedule any.
