Technical Services departmental meeting
12/9/09

1. Reports and announcements

• Student Party - Tuesday 12/15 which is the student study day. Darlene will check several places to find the best deal on pizza. Michelle is bringing soup. Tricia and Vicki will bring in some sweet treats.
• Michelle announced Baker and Taylor just acquired BNA
• Space task group has briefly met with Lynda and Darlene is going to see about having the lockers removed and the blinds at the end of the room fixed so that we might be able to consider using this space for a cubicle.

2. Student hours - allocations.
• Departments are encouraged to hire for what they need and not hire to simply use their allocated hours. TS has been looking at their student hours and adjusting based on the amount of work to be done.

3. Budget news

• $11 million has been cut from the campus budget, of that $5.5 million has been cut to base. The rest has been one time cuts or furloughs; there possibly be another 1 or 2 cuts coming but the details (when and how much are unknown at this point); we will know more after the state looks at its books in Jan.

4. Cleaning schedule and kitchen area before break.

• Jen will clean out the refrigerator on Dec. 23 which is our last day here. People will help make sure the kitchen area is clean before the holiday break

5. Library services surveys
• Here are links to the surveys. The Zoomerang version appeared in InSights but Larry has asked to have that version replaced replaced with those below:
