• Wed., 4/22/09 at 4:00pm in the Gallery:  "Art, Spirit, & Iguanas in the Photographs of Graciela Iturbide," featuring Tom Beck speaking about the current Gallery exhibit, Torrijos: The Man and The Myth, Photographs by Graciela Iturbide.

Acquisitions

Acquisitions will be working with Library Media to develop video reviews of new library resources to feature in the library homepage "Spotlight." This is a Video Working Group initiative and we'll be evaluating the success of this ongoing attempt at promoting new resources by number of hits that the reviews get. Thanks to May Chang for getting us the equipment we need for this and other support. Later as we have our concept further developed we may be inviting other library readers/movie fans/music fans to participate in this project as on-screen reviewers.

Special Collections & Gallery

We have begun moving materials to make way for the construction of the vault.  Lindsey taught a very successful Records Management class to on-campus colleagues.  Tom and Susan presented to the Visual Arts Dept. faculty & staff about using Special Collections materials for art instruction.  Special Collections & Gallery student assistant, Cally Brandt ('09, Art History and Ancient Studies) will be a guest speaker at this year's URCAD, 4/22/09 from 12-1pm in UC 312.
