Permanent URL Construction

Permanent URL Construction

The URL construction for searches is a bit opaque and not easily deciphered. However, you can create links that do what you need. Here's an example with some explanation:

https://mdsoar.org/browse?type=author&value=Nicholas,%20Charles&sort_by=2&order=ASC

  • https://mdsoar.org/brows? -- base URL

  • type=author&value=<NAME>  -- searches by author. Your browser should add the character encoding for spaces (%20) so you can just enter the author name as plain text. You can check out https://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_urlencode.ASP for references related to % codes

  • &sort_by=2 -- sorts by issue date

  • &order=ASC -- how sort will be ordered, ASC or DESC
