How do I create an assignment in Blackboard Ultra?

Note: As of August 8, 2024, Ultra Assignments do not support test questions. To add questions to an assessment, please create a Test ↗︎

From the Create menu (accessible by clicking the plus icon in the Course Content area), select Assignment.
Select Assignment from the menu of assessment options.
Enter the instructions for the assignment in the new Instructions box. Instructors may include text, links, files, multimedia and more in the Instructions box.
Enter instructions in the new Instructions box.
Update the due date and other assignment settings using the gear icon.
When students access the assignment, they will be prompted to “View instructions.” Blank attempts are no longer created when students view assignment instructions. The system only creates an attempt when students add content to the file drop zone / content editor. Note: Group or timed and proctored assignments continue to create attempts when students view the instructions.
