Why do I have two emails associated with my account?
Why do I have two emails associated with my account?
Every user at UMBC is assigned two email addresses. One is in the format of campusID@umbc.edu and the other is in the format of username@umbc.edu.
Different services may use one address or the other depending on their system requirements. As a result, you may see your email displayed in one format vs the other. Blackboard for example uses the campusID@umbc.edu format.
Mail sent to both of these addresses deliver to the same Gmail account, and seeing one displayed versus the other is normal and should not cause any issues.
Users may also create additional email addresses in the form of an email alias.
