How can I reuse comments when providing students feedback with Google Assignments?
Instructors can re-use comments on student submission through the comment bank.
Add new comments to the Comment Bank
1. Open a student assignment from the Assignments dashboard.
2. Click on the Comment Bank icon.
3. Click + Add to bank, then enter the comment(s) you want to add to the bank.
You can add multiple comments to the bank by entering the return key on your keyboard.
4. Click add.
Add existing comments to the Comment Bank
1. Open a student assignment from the Assignments dashboard.
2. Add a comment on the submission.
3. Click on the three dots beside the comment, and click Add comment to bank...
4. Click add.
Edit or delete comments in the Comment Bank.
From the comment bank window, click on the three dots besides the comment to find options to edit or delete it from the bank.
Using Comments from the Comment Bank
1. From the assignment, highlight the passage you want to comment on and click Add a comment from the tool bar.
2. When adding a comment type "#"
Only the # will populate a list of the last 5 comments you have re-used.
Type a keyword or phrase after the # to narrow down the search.
3. Once the comment is highlighted from the list, enter the tab key on your keyboard. This will put the text from the bank into the comment. You can personalize the comment if you want. Otherwise, enter the return key or click Comment to post the comment.
Alternative Method
1. From the Comment Bank, click on the magnify glass to search for comments.
2. Click on the 3-dots next to the comment, and click Select Text.
3. Copy the selection to your clipboard (Command+C on Mac, Control+C on Windows).
4. Add a new comment, and paste (Command+V on Mac, Control+V on Windows).
