How do I access Box from my Android device?

You will need to have logged into Box via the web before using this app.

Tell Me

  1. Install the Android Box app and open the application.

  2. Choose Login.

  3. Enter your full UMBC email address.

  4. Click Continue.

  5. Enter your email address, username, or campus ID and password and choose Log In.

  6. The Box app will display your files.



  • Turn off the Keep me logged in setting

  • Turn on Passcode/Pin Lock

  • Turn on Allow biometric unlock if desired

  • Set the passcode timeout to 5 minutes or less



Basic Navigation

Remember, you are responsible for any files you share or download to a device locally from your Box account!

At the top right, you can

  • Set sorting options

  • Check on ongoing transfers

  • View and modify account settings

At the bottom, you can (Icon functions listed from from left to right)

  • Browse - Browse folders and files; upload and create documents; manage documents and sharing

  • Collections - Manage favorites and other collections

  • Search - Allows you to search files and folders on your Box account

  • Inbox - See notifications and tasks
