How do I change a user’s role in my Blackboard course?
Students who are officially enrolled in a course may not have a role in that same Blackboard course that enables their access to the course gradebook.

Access your Ultra course.
Select the Roster from the Details & Actions menu on the left side of your course.
A layer will open with a list of instructors, students, and other roles (if relevant) in your course.
Find the user and click on the overflow menu (...) to Edit the Member Information.
Select the updated role for the course.
Click SAVE. The user's role will appear under the name.
Depending on the role, the user's placement may also relocate on the roster (e.g., higher or lower on the list).
