How do I find and share a Blackboard error message or debug log code?

Blackboard users can capture their most recent session data (last 30 actions the user has taken) and send it to Instructional Technology staff to assist with support requests. This feature is available in the Support Panel as well when an “Oops!" message appears.

Tell Me

Oops Error Message

  1. If an "Oops" error message appears while you are using Blackboard, select the "Session Debug Log Code" link.

  2. Copy the Debug Log Code.

  3. Submit an RT request with a description of the issue and include the Session Debug Log Code in the ticket.

Support Panel

  1. If you encounter an issue in Blackboard, but you are not prompted with an error message, it is still possible to access a Session Debug Log Code.

  2. Select the "Support" menu on the bottom right corner of Blackboard.

  3. Select "Session Debug."

  4. Select "Request Log Code."

  5. Copy the Debug Log Code.

  6. Submit an RT request with a description of the issue and include the Session Debug Log Code in the ticket.
