What does "Federally Sponsored" travel mean?

If travel is sponsored by a contract or grant using federal funds, the travel may be governed by regulations that differ from general University Travel Policies.  



Select “yes” if your travel costs are federally sponsored. Refer to the UMBC travel policy, Contract and Grant Accounting Travel, and Federal Travel Regulations.



As part of the DocuSign process:

The traveler must confirm that travel arrangements are in full compliance with the following policies:

  •  

    • UMBC Travel Policies

    • External Award terms and conditions

      • Fly America

      • PHS Conflict of Interest

      • Other Sponsored Requirements

    • Export Control Regulations



The traveler will be required to confirm that the travel will occur within the period of performance of the sponsored project.
