How do I allow one student to take a Respondus Monitor test without a webcam?

The webcam functionality is designed for non-proctored environments. Respondus Lockdown Browser with Monitor enabled does not have an explicit exception function to allow an instructor to allow students to take the test without the webcam enabled.

Tell Me

If you haven't created your test in a Blackboard course, you need to do so now and then follow the steps for enabling Respondus Lockdown Browser and Monitor. See → How do I enable Respondus Monitor on a Blackboard test? Then jump to Step 2.

  1. If you already enabled Respondus Lockdown Browser and Monitor, go to the RLDB Dashboard in your course:

    • Original: Control Panel → Course Tools → Respondus Lockdown Browser

    • Ultra: Details & Actions → Books & Tools → Respondus Lockdown Browser

  2. Find your test and click on the menu to open the RLDB settings.

  3. Select Settings from the context menu to the left of the test title.

If you are teaching an Original course:
  • Stay in the top section for the Lockdown Browser Settings.

  • Expand the Password Settings.

  • Enter a password.

  • Click Save + Close.

If you are teaching an Ultra course:
