How do I connect to Eduroam with an iPhone or iPad?
Step 1: Download the eduroam profile
Visit https://cat.eduroam.org/?idp=248&profile=346 from your Apple device and download the profile. You can also scan this QR code with your camera to visit the site:
Your device will ask you to confirm the profile download:
Click Allow, and it'll prompt you to go to the Settings app to install it:
If you have previously connected to the eduroam network, you should make sure to clear those settings before following the next steps. From the Settings app, select Wifi, then tap the next to eduroam, and select Forget this network.
Step 2: Install the profile
Open the Settings app, and go to General->Profiles: (on iOS 15 and newer, you'll need to go to General→VPN & Device Management and select the downloaded eduroam profile)
Click Install, and you'll be prompted to enter your username. Be sure to enter your complete UMBC email address, ending in "@umbc.edu":
After you enter your username and password, the process should be complete, and you should see a confirmation like this:
You should now be able to connect automatically to the eduroam wireless network at any participating institution across the world. If this doesn't work for you, you can delete the eduroam profile from Settings->General->Profiles and go into Settings->Wifi, select eduroam, and tap Forget this network. Then, follow these instructions again. Remember to use your full UMBC email address.
Once you have connected to the eduroam network, you should remove the UMBC Visitor network from your wifi settings, or your device could still try to connect to that network under some circumstances. Open Settings, select Wifi, then wait for your device to find the available networks. Once you see UMBC Visitor, tap on the next to it. If the screen says Forget this Network at the top, tap on that.
