When do I create a Travel Reimbursement?
When do I create a Travel Reimbursement?
For travel requiring a "Pre-Approval", the Travel Reimbursement Request may be initiated when the Pre-Approval is in the "Travel Ready" status. This is useful for gathering and uploading any documents and receipts that may be available prior to and during travel.
The traveler (or preparer for the traveler) should submit the Travel Reimbursement Request once travel is completed within ten days of the return.
The traveler must have a completed and fully approved Pre-Approval before the travel begins, when the trip is out of state or involves overnight travel within state (Maryland and DC are both considered in state for UMBC travelers).
Conversely, a Pre-Approval is not required when the traveler makes a day trip within the state.
