How do I embed a Google Calendar in my Blackboard course or community?

  1. Log into Google Calendar (To access UMBC's Google Calendar go to http://gcal.umbc.edu.).

  2. Click the down-arrow next to the calendar you want to embed in the list of calendars (either under My calendars or Other calendars) on the left

  3. Select Settings and sharing.

  4. Scroll down to the section labeled Integrate Calendar.

  5. Copy the Embed code.



    TIP: Click Customize to adjust the width (780) and height (580), color, and available buttons.

  6. Go to your Ultra Blackboard course/community.

  7. Click (+) to Create a new Document.

  8. Once the Document opens, click the title in the top left and rename your document.

    • TIP: Click the gear icon in the upper right corner to add a description. The description appears on the course content page to provide additional information and context to students.

  9. If nothing else is going into this document, click Add HTML.

  10. Paste the iframe source code copied on step 4 to embed the calendar.


    TIP: If you didn't customize the calendar in step 5, you can change the width="780" height="580" to avoid scrollbars.

  11. Click Save.




  12. Adjust visibility so students can see the calendar.
