How do I add the 3rd Floor Event Center printer to my Mac?

These instructions are relevant only if the IP address and the model of the printer stays the same.

1. Make sure you are connected to the eduroam wifi network or wired ethernet network. You can only print to campus network printers either via a wired ethernet connection or via the eduroam wifi.

2. Download the printer driver. If that link doesn’t work, you can open a browser and search for savin mp c8003 driver download. Select what Mac OS version you are running and then download the appropriate driver.

3. Once you have downloaded the printer driver, find it in your downloads folder labeled something similar to "Ricoh_PS_Printers."

4. Open and run the driver package. Follow the prompts by entering your computer password when requested and clicking next for all steps until the driver is installed successfully.

5. Follow these steps to add the printer via IP address:

  • Search for and open System Preferences locally on your computer.

  • Open Printers & Scanners.

  • On the left where there’s a space where printers are listed, towards the bottom left there should be a + (plus).  Click on it.

  • Click on the globe icon from the top that says IP.

  • For the Address enter (retrieve the IP address from the printer).

  • For Protocol select HP Jetdirect-Socket.

  • Under Name you can name it to "Savin MP C8003."

  • Under Use click on Select Software…

  • In the window that opens on the upper right search for C8003.

  • Select RICOH MP C8003 PS and click Ok.

  • Click Add on the bottom right.

  • Test printing to make sure that the driver and printer were installed correctly on your Mac.
