Document Management Working Group

The Document Management Working Group is no longer active (May, 2010)

Charge: Improve library communication by creating a more organized, secure space for external and internal Library documents. Investigate a variety of methods for creating access to documents, including portals and intranets.

Goals and Objectives: Encourage Library communication, in all directions. Create a communication structure to feed information up, down, and sideways. Develop methods for increased informal communication. Use alternative communication technology (such as blogs, wikis, instant messaging, etc.) to disseminate information. Develop methods for more accessible documentation. Identify ways to deal with years of and multiple versions of documentation. Possible Web archive. Determine viability for a Library Intranet as a gateway and link to documents.
