I drive recommendations

• LEC was apprised of the technical problems involved in archiving the entire I drive. LEC was amenable to the CDMWG recommendation that we only archive the AllShare folder. LibDocs was not considered to be as urgently in need of overhaul as it is read-only for all staff except library administration.

• CDMWG will develop a new file structure for the AllShare folder and work out the technical considerations for creating a read-only archive of the current AllShare folder (possibly within AllShare).

• LEC agreed that we would leave archiving of department folders to the discretion of the individual departments.
  
  
  

Confluence

• LEC would like the CDMWG to gather staff feedback on Confluence before they endorse it. After the Library Assembly presentation LEC would like us to determine how receptive library employees are to using Confluence. We should also solicit staff suggestions for the design and content sections in Confluence.

• Provided that there isn't a major outcry against using Confluence, LEC would like us to develop a course of action for promoting use of Confluence. This would include developing best practices for using Confluence, Confluence training sessions, and any other aspects we think necessary.
  
  
  

Next LEC presentation

• CDMWG will present both the AllShare folder recommendations (file structure and archive creation) and the Confluence promotion course of action at the May 20 LEC meeting. We can move this to a later LEC meeting if we need extra time to work on these issues.
