What is the "Purpose of Travel" field used for?

The destination(s) along with the explanation of the travel purpose are used to indicate where and for what purpose the traveler is traveling.

The Purpose of Travel field is mandatory.

There is a 400 Character limit for the "Purpose" field (the travel system will allow you to cut/paste or type more than 400 characters, but will only save the first 400).
If "purpose" requires a longer explanation, please upload a separate document to the travel system using the "documents" tab.
