How to create a Canvas Credentials account?



Canvas Credentials is a digital credentialing platform that issues, manages, and shares digital badges and micro-credentials. Digital badges are a form of online recognition that can be used to demonstrate skills, achievements, and learning outcomes. Learners may acquire badges from a few different experiences at UMBC and elsewhere.

Canvas Credentials is a product by Instructure and previously branded as Badge.

The below steps will take you through the steps to create a canvas credentials account:

  1. Visit Canvas Credentials https://badgr.com/.

  2. Click on the "Sign up with Google"

  3. Enter your UMBC email and continue to sign in with myUMBC.

  4. After you have filled in your information, Canvas Credentials will send you an email to verify your email address. Click on the link in the email to verify your email address.

  5. Once the email has been verified follow the below steps to update personal information such as first name, last name, job title etc.

  6. With your Canvas Credentials account created, you can start using the platform to manage your badges, share your badges with others, and even create digital badges.
