How do I get started with Amplify GenAI?

To get started with Amplify GenAI, first make sure that you are logged on to the UMBC VPN. Then in your browser of choice navigate to https://chip.genai.umbc.edu/ . Click the Login button and then you will be presented with the default chat window. From this window you can do the following:

1. Click the Advanced Conversation Settings button which will open the menu shown in the image below,

2. Select an AI model

3. Select from a number of custom instructions, either pre-installed or created by you

4. Control the temperature of the AI, choosing between more precise answers on one end or more creative answers on the other

5. Type a prompt to chat with Amplify

6. Add or manage files which Amplify can interact with directly

7. View old conversations

8. Select the Chat tab to view old conversation or start a new one; Share conversations, prompts, or folders with other users in the UMBC domain; and view Settings such as managing your account, importing and exporting conversations, and affecting your configuration

9. Add a new Assistant, as well as create a folder for assistant files, or Prompt Template

10. Manage and select assistants, helpers, and custom instructions for use

11. And sign out
