COMSOL Multiphysics

Description

COMSOL Multiphysics is an interactive environment to model single and coupled phenomena based on partial differential equations - the equations that underlie most science and engineering applications. In COMSOL Multiphysics you can choose from a number of predefined physics, modify your predefined equations, and write your own.

Eligibility

Faculty and Staff for professional use.

COMSOL is available for classroom use through the Virtual Desktop Environment (Modeling image). If you need to access COMSOL for classroom purposes via the VDE, please submit an RT ticket. Classroom use is lesson preparation by teachers, or homework by students, related to a specific course. Any other academic use of COMSOL in the VDE, such as research, is prohibited.

If COMSOL is required for research or other academic purposes, the software must be installed on a UMBC owned computer (See the installation section below). Please note the primary license is limited to four concurrent users and is only available on the campus network (ethernet or Eduroam wifi) or through the UMBC VPN.
