Getting Ready for Student Administration

It is recommended that Student Administration be accessed via Internet Explorer. A prerequisite to using Student Administration is how to navigate within Internet Explorer. SkillSoft has several courses available to teach you the skills necessary to effectively use Internet Explorer and understand how to get the most of E-learning.

Accessing Skillsoft

If you have a UMBC userID and password, you can access the Skillsoft course library. To access the skillsoft course library, follow these steps:

1. Go to www.umbc.edu/skillsoft.
2. From the main window, select Login to Skillport from the left menu. You are taken to the Skillport Registered Users Login screen.
3. Enter your email address in both the Login and Password fields, and select the Login to Skillport link. You are taken to the Skillsoft Course Library.
4. To locate a course, enter the course name in the Search For field at the top of the window and click once on the Search button. Your results are returned.
5. Click once on the name of course to view playing options.
6. Select your desired playing option.
