 Wiki Training Document

Discussion of Wiki Training Suggestions document sent as e-mail attachment by LaTanya on 5 June.  See Documents Archive on Wiki.

Suggest 3 levels of training---Novice, Beginner, Intermediate.  Training Suggestions document includes recommendations for topics to be covered at each level.   Need objectives for each session. 

Suggest a class taught once every two weeks beginning the end of July thru into Aug.  Then go to quarterly schedule.  Start with Novice class, then Beginner, etc.  No more than 3 weeks between the class levels (Novice, Beginner, Intermediate) so that skill level can build on previous class.

January 2010 start for the quarterly schedule.     
Actions:  Send Wiki Training Suggestions document to DMWG asking for comments .   Have Janet look at the document.   

Quick updates

-          LEEC is announcing open houses for departments the 3^rd week of June (22-25). 

-          Wiki Guidelines

Robin took them to LEC and they reviewed.  Generally thought it looked good.  Strike suggestion that committees post agendas prior to meeting.  This seen as additional workload with little benefit; many agendas are in flux until the meeting starts; agendas are redundant as they appear later in minutes. 

Next steps.  Remove suggestion on agendas, send out to Kuhn Staff, and present at Library Assembly on 11 June.

-          STAR12 National Seminars subscription will be purchased with LEEC money.  This allows unlimited access to webinars by staff.  LaTanya will post the list of seminars offered each month and folks can ask for a session to be set up.

-          Daniel and Austin are working on wiki best practices for their respective departments and would like to share those with the committee when they are done.    

Develop CWG work plan

This was a working session to flesh out the work plan document.  See wiki for document as it stands at this moment.  Intention is to update the work plan as work moves forward and new projects are added. 

Action Items

1)  LaTanya and Katy will send the Wiki Training Suggestions document to DMWG and ask for comments. 

Katy will ask for Janet's input as well.

2)  Katy will present Confluence Wiki Page Guideline for Library Working Groups to Library Assembly at

11 June meeting.

3)  Katy and Shu will contact those who responded to the survey saying they would be willing to give

further input.  

4)  Daniel will write e-mail to Kuhn Staff asking for additional questions to be included in FAQ.

5)  Daniel and LaTanya will work on survey on communication flow. 

6)  LaTanya will invite member of LEEC to attend our next meeting to discuss coordination of

projects/efforts.
