After being sorted onto the sorting shelves, books are then placed in strict call-number order and loaded onto shelving carts. When making up a shelving cart, please keep the following in mind:

• If all of the sorting shelves for a given floor are full, be sure to pull some books from each shelf, rather than emptying one and leaving others full.

• Place folios together on the bottom shelf of the cart.

• If there are not enough books available to fill a cart, check any sorting carts for more. 

• Be sure to check the overflow cart for books from the floor you’re working on.
