Charge (Revised Oct. 2019):

Work to advance Library and Gallery collections, spaces, and services that support equity, diversity, and inclusion for our patrons and staff. Research and recommend guidelines and practices to improve the recruitment, hiring, and retention of a diverse staff. Identify, create, and/or disseminate programming and resources to expand staff's understanding of and commitment to issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion. Promote programming and messaging to center the library as a campus resource for social justice.

Goals:

Develop best practices for recruitment, hiring, and retention of diverse staff; implement outreach initiatives to gather feedback and assess climate; enhance organizational culture and communication; organize training opportunities to support diversity initiatives; suggest changes for library services, spaces, and collections; evaluate and assess efforts pertaining to the charge
