Printing encrypted documents

Printing documents that were encrypted with either password or DRM is not supported. The symptoms can be various errors or just inability to send jobs to the printer after uploading. Please make sure to remove protections from the document if you would like to print via Mobile Print or use system print queues instead (e.g., Windows print devices).

Office documents

If encrypted Microsoft Office documents are attempted to be printed using Mobile Print, you may see an error: "Document conversion failed because 'The document password is incorrect.'"

PDF documents

Any security enabled on the pdf document, even if setting allows printing, would result in print failure in Mobile Print because it encrypts the file. 

What document formats are supported for upload?

  • Microsoft® Word

  • Microsoft® Excel

  • Microsoft® PowerPoint

  • Microsoft® Visio

  • Microsoft Publisher

  • Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF)

  • Text (CSV, RTF,  TXT, CFG, & INI)

  • Images (JPG, JPEG, TIF, TIFF, GIF, PNG, BMP)

  • Open Office 4.0 or greater documents
