Initiate TCP/IP Connection Between DC and TCS

  1. DC: Open wifly (as a stand-in for a better TCP/IP client)

  2. TCS: Open DFM TCS Software

  3. Switch Motor Driver Chassis on (front panel)

  4. TCS: Establish TCP/IP Server

    1. Options → Communications → TCP/IP Tab

    2. Select "No Connection", then "Apply" to activate settings button

    3. In settings, set port number (probably 50031), also refresh the IP address just to see it.

    4. Then select "Active", then "Apply" to activate the TCP/IP Server

  5. DC: Using wifly, setup remote connection to TCP/IP Server

    1. Set the IP to the shown IP seen above.

    2. Set the port number to the one seen above.

    3. Select "Connect"

    4. Issue commands pursuant to documentation on TCP/IP Commands found in UMBC_Observatory_DFM_Telescope_Manual starting on page 37 (Section 6.0)

  6. Rejoice

Common Failures:
