Declaration of Major

 

The Declaration of Major form allows you to declare, change or update the major(s), minor(s), and certificate(s) you are completing at UMBC. This form updates the information on your transcript and your degree audit, and allows you to be assigned to appropriate academic advising resources.

Procedure:

  1. If one or more programs requires departmental approval (these programs are listed on the webform), obtain the signature from the appropriate advisor (you will need their name and email).

  2. Clicking the Next button will take you directly to the Declaration of Major Form. make sure that everything in the Student Information section is correct before continuing. 

  3. Select one of the three declaration options and pick a major from the drop-down menu the appears

  4. If you want to declare or delete any minors or certificates, check the appropriate box and fill in the programs you want to declare or delete. 

  5. Click the Sign button and submit.
