Overview

Digital Collections at the University of Maryland Libraries supports the teaching and research mission of the university by facilitating access to digital collections, information, and knowledge. This is accomplished through enhancing access to selected library resources through the development, maintenance, and preservation of digital collections; by serving as a knowledge resource within the university for digital library issues and development; by participating in national and international initiatives which further the development of new forms of scholarly communication, tools, standards, and applications; and by providing training and support in digital library standards and formats.

ArchivesUM
ArchivesUM provides guides to the rich archive and manuscript collections at the University of Maryland Libraries. Descriptions of collections (or Finding Aids) may be browsed and searched by collection descriptions and subject categories.
A Treasury of World's Fair Art and Architecture
This digital resource provides access to art and architecture related images, virtual museum-like curated tours, and contextual essays covering a broad number of international fairs, selected from the rich World's Fair Collection at the Architecture Library.
Baroness Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven Digital Library
Seven representative poems of Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven, poet, visual artist and one of the few female Dadaists, are available in multiple witnesses, along with background information on Freytag-Loringhoven's life, work and literary connections.Films@UM [UMCP Campus and VPN only]
Films@UM collects over 700 digital videos on a wide variety of subjects which can be used in the classroom or independently. Spanning documentaries, public television programming, taped performances and feature films, Films@UM covers many areas of interest.
In Transition: Selected poems by the Baroness Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven
This collection represents a publicly available scholarly edition of twelve unpublished poetry manuscripts written by Freytag-Loringhoven between 1923 and 1927 and serves to provide access to a textual performance of her creative work in a digital environment.

The Maryland Map Collection is a comprehensive collection of more than 2,500 map titles depicting Maryland, the Chesapeake Bay, and the surrounding region. Selected maps have been digitized for this web database.

National Trust Library Historic Postcard Collection
The online collection represents a small sampling of the approximately 20,000 postcards available in the National Trust for Historic Preservation Library Collection. The Libraries will continue to add images to this collection.
Prange Digital Children's Book Collection [UMCP Campus Only]
The children's books digitally represented here were published in Japan during the early post-World War II years, 1945-49. The books in digital format will be mounted on this website on a rolling basis and ultimately will include more than 8,000 titles.
Sterling Family Papers
This collection of 62 letters vividly documents the lives of three individuals during the Civil War: Will Sterling, a Union officer, his wife Tillie Farquhar Sterling, and Mrs. Sterling's mother, Anna Virginia Farquhar, when the Sterlings were stationed in Annapolis, Maryland.
The Jim Henson Works [Select UMCP Libraries Locations Only]
The Jim Henson Works contains over 70 digital videos spanning 35 years of Henson's groundbreaking work in television and film. These full-length videos, with complete bibliographic information, are available for viewing only at select libraries of UM.
