The instructor gave me a number to use as permission for the course. Why didn't I get a Student Specific permission and how do I use the number?

It is up to the department if permissions for courses are by Student Specific or by Number. To use a number, the student would input the number in the box labeled Permission Number. this box is usually found between steps 2 and 3.
