Purpose of the Project Charter

The Project Charter articulates the major goals and objectives of the Student Administration Project in implementing PeopleSoft's Campus Solutions software version 9.0 at UMBC. The Charter proposes the scope of the implementation and describes the strategies and standards that will be used in reaching those goals. This includes how the project will be organized, staffed, and managed; the tools and templates that will be used; and the standards that will be applied.

The Project Charter is conceived as a dynamic document that will be amended to throughout the course of the implementation. It is intended to help focus understanding, document progress, and facilitate accountability.
