BSEP Registration

Reasons for Form:

This form is used to request permission to take up to two courses per academic year at another (visiting) institution through the Baltimore Student Exchange Program (BSEP).

Workflow:

The webform is accessed by students through the UMBC Registrar's website.

The form will then be sent to all or some recipients depending on the student's university and major:

  • Academic Advisor: (*Required for Coppin, Goucher, JHU, Peabody, Loyola, MICA, Morgan, Notre Dame, Stevenson, Towson, and UB students)

  • Faculty/Major Advisor (*Required for JHU-Engineering students)

  • Academic Advisor & Support Center (*Required for Loyola students)

  • Special Approval (*Required for Coppin and UMBC ROTC students)

Lastly, the BSEP Coordinator (Home Institution) will review the document and verify the completed form.

    • Address

    • Credits

    • Credits needed to graduate

    • Student status

    • Undergraduate students will need to fill out a VOT (Verification of Transferability) form with the exception of ROTC students and graduate students.

How to fill out the form:

The student will access the form through UMBC Registrar's Website and fill out the required documentation.

Then depending on the student's home institution and major it would go to the assigned Advisors in their institution where they will look at the information review and sign off at more than one section if required.

Then the home institution (UMBC) will review the document and verify the completed form.

  • Cross-registration is not available or valid for summer or intersession terms.

  • If this is your last semester before graduation, please consult your registrar’s or records office.
