Can I use my laptop/notebook computer in the library?

Answer

Wireless networking is available throughout the library. For more information on wireless networking at UMBC, please see Wireless & Infrastructure Support on the Division of Information Technology (DoIT) website

Connecting to the Wireless Network

UMBC has three wireless networks:

  1. Eduroam - for anyone with a myUMBC account; use your myUMBC login name and password to authenticate

  2. UMBC Campus - for anyone with a myUMBC account; use your myUMBC login name and password to authenticate

  3. UMBC Visitor - for anyone without a myUMBC account needing wireless access

Printing

Users can print documents from their personal devices by connecting to mobileprint.umbc.edu and logging in with their myUMBC account. Documents uploaded to mobileprint can be retrieved from any of the public printers in the library (RLC, 1st, 2nd, and 7th floors). To learn more about mobile printing see the Pharos Mobile Printing FAQ.
