Students

Link your ALEKS account to Blackboard

Certain courses are participating in the Course Materials Initiative, which provide immediate access to ALEKS without students having to enter a special code. You will need a Blackboard username, a course in which you are enrolled as a student, and an ALEKS account. If you do not have an ALEKS account, you will create one.

  1. Log into Blackboard and select your course.
  2. The location and naming convention of the ALEKS tool link will vary (e.g., Syllabus, Course Documents, etc.). Therefore, be sure to check with your instructor on where to locate ALEKS in your Blackboard course
  3. If prompted, agree to the Terms of Use.
  4. You will be prompted to either enter an existing ALEKS account or create a new one. If you forgot your credentials, you can request a reminder.

  5. If creating a new one, your first and last names will be pre-populated. Your email is optional, but recommended.

  6. Registration has been completed. Your ALEKS account is now paired.

Depending on your course, you may be prompted to enter a code. Certain courses include access to ALEKS within the Course Materials fee so you will have immediate access. Other courses still require you to purchase a license to ALEKS. Check the UMBC Bookstore for more information.
