A UMBC OneDrive account is available to all active students, faculty, and staff. OneDrive access will no longer be available upon leaving UMBC enrolment/employment. NOTE: Syncing a large number of files and folders may slow down your device's performance. 


There are multiple ways to access OneDrive. Below is a basic overview of common ways to access your UMBC OneDrive account.

How to access OneDrive in a browser: Sign in here using your UMBC email address.

How to access OneDrive in Windows:

  1. In the Windows Start Menu, search for OneDrive and then click on it to open it.
  2. When OneDrive starts, type in your UMBC email address, click Sign in, and then log in to myUMBC.
  3. If this is your first time using OneDrive, follow the onscreen instructions to setup OneDrive (please refer to this article if you need more details on setting up OneDrive). During the setup, you will be asked preferences for the location of your OneDrive folder and if you want to sync files to OneDrive. Optionally, you can also enable the Files On-Demand feature if you want to save hard drive space. 
  4. OneDrive - UMBC can be accessed either from the Windows Start Menu by clicking the OneDrive icon on the left-hand side of the File Explorer.

How to access OneDrive in Mac:

  1. Download OneDrive from here and install it.
  2. Press cmd+Space to start a Spotlight search and type OneDrive to start OneDrive.
  3. When OneDrive starts, type in your UMBC email address, click Sign in, and then log in to myUMBC.
  4. If this is your first time using OneDrive, follow the onscreen instructions to setup your OneDrive. Please refer to this article if you need more details on setting up OneDrive. During the setup, you will be asked preferences for the location of your OneDrive folder and if you want to sync files to OneDrive. Optionally, you can also enable the Files On-Demand feature if you want to save hard drive space.
