Training, Workshops, & Discussions Offered:
- December 15th, 1:00-2:00 (259)
This session will include open discussion, a demonstration of one active
learning technique (jigsaw), and a brief overview of additional resources.
- December 21st, 11:00-12:00 (259)
This follow up session will give participants a chance to practice (or
observe others practicing) the jigsaw technique in a casual classroom
environment. - February 23rd, 1:00-2:00 (259)
This session will include a demonstration and discussion of Turning Technology audience response system ("Clicker") and the School Vue survey system.
Examples of Active Learning Techniques and Tools:
- Jigsaw Classroom - A teaching method that also encourages listening, engagement, interaction, peer teaching, and cooperation by giving each member of the group an essential part to play in the academic activity.
