Before you begin...

If you allow a student into your class that does not meet the prerequisite for the course, be aware that by allowing them into your class you are not giving the student a prerequisite override.  You must select the appropriate check box (Prerequisite) that identifies the reason for the permission is to allow a student to override the prerequisite.

  • We will run an audit at the end of a term.  If a student did not meet the prerequisite for a course, the student will be automatically withdrawn from the class.

SA Tip

There are different reasons to grant a student permission to take your class.  You  must select the checkbox related to the reason for the permission for each student that you add to your permission list.  The reasons include:

Closed Class

Class is Full

Requisites Not Met

Pre or Co-Requisites not met by student (only operates when departments utilize the automatic prerequisite checking within SA.)

Consent Required

Permission is required for this class (This field must be checked for Permission only classes.)

Undergraduate Student trying to enroll in a Graduate course
