Follow the steps below to install Alpine on a Windows machine. 

1. Go to http://alpine.x10host.com/the patched version of PC-Alpine
2. Download the Windows Binary that applies to your Windows machine. There are 2 binaries: one for the older 32-bit versions such as Windows XP and one for Windows 10 and other 64-bit versions. for the latest version of PC-Alpine (version 2.25 as of 8/3/2022).
   
3. When your download is complete, unzip the file and click on alpine.exe.
4. When Alpine first runs it will open an Alpine Configuration Setup screen that will ask you to locate your personal configuration file:

5. You can choose to use a remote configuration file that will be stored on the IMAP server (the first option),

   or a local configuration file stored on your computer's hard drive:

6. Whichever option you choose, check the option to "Use this as the default Alpine Configuration"
