Follow the steps below to install Alpine on a Windows machine.
- Go to http://alpine.x10host.com/the patched version of PC-Alpine
- Download the Windows Binary that applies to your Windows machine. There are 2 binaries: one for the older 32-bit versions such as Windows XP and one for Windows 10 and other 64-bit versions. for the latest version of PC-Alpine (version 2.25 as of 8/3/2022).
- When your download is complete, unzip the file and click on alpine.exe.
- When Alpine first runs it will open an Alpine Configuration Setup screen that will ask you to locate your personal configuration file:
- You can choose to use a remote configuration file that will be stored on the IMAP server (the first option),
or a local configuration file stored on your computer's hard drive: - Whichever option you choose, check the option to "Use this as the default Alpine Configuration"
