Drilling Down

Every dashboard, except for the Activity by Multiple Fiscal Years, allows the user to “drill down” to the detail that makes up the sum shown on the summary dashboards.

However, the difference between Tableau Drill-downs and the old Rex Drill-downs is that users must specify the account type they are drilling down on (Revenue, Salary & Wages, Fringe Benefits, or Operating Costs).

Once in the Drill down, you can scroll up and down, but also left and right, as there can be a lot of data on the detail that might extend past the window.

An important note is that to go back to the summary page; Users must click the back button at the top right of the screen.

Revenue Detail

At the Revenue Detail, all data comes from the PeopleSoft Finance system.  Scroll to the right to see the total amount.

Operating Costs Detail

The Operating Costs Detail also comes from the PeopleSoft Finance system and includes voucher information when available.

Salary and Wages Detail

Accounts with activity under Salaries and Wages come from the Finance and HR systems. The salary activity from the HR system is shown in the table at the top of the page.

Adjustments, accruals, and other manual journal entries to these accounts are in the table at the bottom of the page.
Fringe Benefits Detail

Accounts with activity under Fringe Benefits can come from the Finance and HR systems. The fringe costs from the HR system are shown in the table at the top of the page.

Adjustments, accruals, or other manual journal entries to these accounts are found at the bottom of the page.

Budget Adjustments Detail

Accounts with activity under the “Budget Adjustment” comes from the PeopleSoft Finance system and only shows Budget Adjustments and not Original Budget Transactions.
