Where can I find a quiet place to study in the library?

To accommodate users who need a completely quiet study environment, the Library has designated floors 5 & 6 as "absolutely quiet" floors. The quiet rules for these floors are more stringent and are consistently enforced.

• No talking above a whisper anywhere on the floor. If you are working in a study room on floors 5 & 6, please keep any conversation very quiet and doors closed.

• No extended conversations, even at a whisper.

• No use of cell phones whatsoever.

• No other noise sources are permitted on the floor.

Library staff walk through the area periodically to enforce quiet rules, but you can also report violations to the Security Desk at 410-455-2331 or Circulation Department staff at 410-455-2354.
