  • Instructors may drop as many grades as they want (lowest/highest) from a grading category, as long as there are more items inside the category than dropped items, or to choose just the lowest or highest grade to be considered for that category.

  • You may create additional grading categories to customize your Overall Grade calculation.


Tell Me

  1. Go the course Gradebook. 
  2. Select "Overall Grade."
  3. Select "Calculation Details."
  4. Confirm that your gradebook is set to calculate the overall grade by "Grade category weights."
  5. In the categories that you wish to drop grades, select "Add Rule." Toggle the "Enable" option to "on" and choose either to drop scores from the total calculation or to use only specific (lowest/highest)" scores. Select "Continue."
