Windows

  1. Click the Start button or Windows icon located at the bottom left on the screen.
  2. Go to Control Panel.
  3. Click System and Security and then System (or just System if not viewing by category).
  4. The page that loads will display basic information about your computer including the current version of Windows, processor, installed memory (RAM) and the system type.

Mac

  1. Click the Apple logo in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
  2. Click About this Mac.
  3. In the window that loads, you will see information about your computer including current version of Mac OS X, the processor, and the amount of installed memory.
