FACULTY REMOTE ACTIVITIES SCHEDULE 

This form is to be completed by full time faculty seeking approval to perform all their responsibilities remotely such that they will not be physically present on the main UMBC campus and/or the Shady Grove Campus for the duration of the time period specified on the form.

Granting of this approval does not exempt the faculty member from the requirement to comply with the COVID-19 vaccination mandate in place at the time.

The remote activities schedule is based on the faculty member’s instructional, research, and service responsibilities with the expectation that the employee will not be physically present at the university’s on-site location.

Remote Activities Plan

Please describe the planned activities to be carried out for the period of the remote schedule. The expectation of this agreement is that the faculty member will remotely perform their duties and responsibilities in the activities plan below in accordance with the approval of the academic department chair and the dean. Additional documents may be attached using the upload attachment icon on the signature page.

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS

Non-Sensitive Research:

This is research that does not have a data-use agreement or specific data security requirements from grant sponsor. All UMBC university data (student records, administrative, etc.) will be protected in accordance with UMBC’s Data Use Guidelines.

We recommend that everyone use a UMBC owned machine that is configured by DoIT or your departmental IT staff to ensure compliance with all security requirements. Where this is not possible and you are using a personal machine, you must have the following protections in place:
    * Enable your machines host-based firewall;
    * Run antivirus software;
    * Configure automated patching or promptly patch when security updates occur; and
    * Limited and restricted use by other household members.
