The answer depends on how the class is set up in the system.
If there is wait list for the class and the class is set-up as "Department Consent Required" you will need to obtain permission from the department before you can register for the class and get on the wait list.
To see if a class "Department Consent Required:"
- Select the Schedule of Classes.
- Locate the class in which you are interested in registering.
- Click on the link to the section to view the Class Details.
- Locate the Enrollment Information header for information as to whether the class is "Department Consent Required."
