Using the feedback from the 2011 survey of MHCC members (see survey results in the Spring 2011 Newsletter) the Wiki subgroup has reformed as the Online Content Development subgroup. Our task will be to research other platforms and re-consider MHCC's online presence. Members of the subgroup will each look at a possible platform and report back to the group pros/cons. Possible platforms include WordPress, Drupal, MediaWiki, Omeka. MHCC members also suggest: LOC's Recollection, LOC's Viewshare, Blogspot, Ning (for list serv). During the discussion we identified four areas of inquiry:

  1. A web space to promote the MHCC member institutions (and all MD history and culture organizations) and reach researchers
  2. A web space for collaboration amoungst MHCC members, to share meeting minutes, etc.
  3. Migration of the current e-mail reflector to a long term solution that will allow for searching and reviewing old messages
  4. Identify other registers or online list of repositories to share our repository information, such as Archives Grid
