Overview

Maryland Digital Cultural Heritage is a collaborative, statewide digitization program headquartered at the Enoch Pratt Free Library/State Library Resource Center in Baltimore. The program partners with Maryland libraries, archives, historical societies, museums, and other institutions to digitize and provide free online access to materials relating to the state's history and culture. Materials in MDCH's online digital collections include maps, manuscripts, photographs, artwork, books, and other media. Collection descriptions provide the location of the original items, the contributor(s), the inclusive dates, an overview, and a list of related materials (books, articles, websites, etc.). Visitors to the MDCH web site are able to view digitized items and data about each item by browsing within a collection, or by searching the MDCH Union Catalog.
